BILLINGS, Mont. (August 3, 2024) One win deserves another, and Phil Dietz was on point this past weekend with the ASCS Frontier Region with a weekend sweep at Gallatin Speedway and Big Sky Speedway.
At the Billings, Mont. oval on Saturday night, Dietz brought his win total with the series to 13, and marks the first time since 2021 that the Montana shoe has rolled into Victory Lane at Big Sky Speedway.
Gridding the feature third, that is where the No. 72 rode until Lap 10. Moving to the runner-up spot, the chase for the led was on with the top spot coming on Lap 17. From there, Dietz opened a 4.482-seconds advantage over the field.
Trever Kirkland, who had led the opening 16 revolutions, ended up second with Kory Wermling in third. Rich Bailey and Cody Masse made up the top five.
The 2024 season marks the 33rd season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours encompassing Wing and Non-Wing competition.
