THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY: Chad Salem Walks Away Uninjured after Wreck at the High Banks

8/3/2024 Belleville, Kan (www.urssracing.com) - The opening night of the 7th Annual Belleville 305 Nationals presented by NextEra Energy provided fans with some jaw-dropping moments. One of which paused the racing action for nearly an hour after the front stretch fence was damaged.

During the opening laps of the VP Racing Fuels Last Chance Showdown, the #19 of Chad Salem, (Oberlin, Kansas), blew a right rear tire going through the front stretch, before the car lost steering ability and sent Salem's car right side first into the guardrail.

The car would tumble end over end before landing on all 4 wheels, causing the crowd to go silent for a minute. The Belleville High Banks rescue crew was quickly on scene before seconds later, Chad Salem was seen climbing out of the car.

Per a statement from Rick Salem; “Chad is ok today. He is sore, but thankfully everything did its job as far as safety”.

The Salem family now gets ready for a big day, as Rick Salem is set to be inducted into the High Banks Hall of Fame at the Rebulic County High School. The ceremony begins at noon.
