Waelti Takes Badger Midget Series Point Lead Heading Into Sycamore Speedway

It's been awhile since there was a change at the top of the Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Auto Racing Association leaderboard. By just a single point, Brandon Waelti took the lead over Cody Weisensel after last Sunday's race at Angell Park Speedway.

Matt Rechek's consistency has kept him in the top-five all season and he occupies the third spot. Todd Kluever who's had some mechanical gremlins is fourth in points. Parker Jones, who's had a "feast or famine" sort of season, feasted on the competition last weekend at Angell Park Speedway, taking the popular Racers Reunion race. He finds himself in fifth.

Badger has raced only nine times this season having suffered five rainouts. There are just eight races left, with three at Sycamore, one at Wilmot Raceway and four including the season ending Fireman's Nationals at Angell Park Speedway. That last event is a two-day show over Labor Day weekend.

Hot laps are slated for 6:30 on Saturday at Sycamore. Please check the track's pages for official information and updates.

Fans don't forget to check out the MyRacePass app and join the fun of Fantasy Racing. Every Badger Midget Series event is available on race day for Fantasy play. After weeks dominated by two players, a new winner emerged last weekend. That player will be offered two free tickets to this week's Sycamore race.
