MOWA Traverses the Mississippi for Two Shows this Weekend!

(Bill W) May 21, 2013 – The Midwest Open Wheel Association will be traversing up the Mississippi River for a pair of events this Memorial Day weekend. Saturday night, the high speeds of Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri host the Red, White and Blue Shootout. On Sunday, MOWA will make the first of two 2013 appearances at the 3/8-mile Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois.

It will be the first trip to Pevely for MOWA since May of 2012. The winner that night was two-time and defending series champion, Jerrod Hull, who has seen some bad luck so far this year. The high banks at Pevely are known for their high speeds and wheel to wheel action!

This will also mark the second career appearance for the series at Quincy. Jimmy Hurley won last July at the semi-banked oval.

AJ Bruns added to his point lead last Saturday night with his win at Montgomery Motorsports Park in New Florence, Missouri. Paul Nienhiser’s impressive early season continues as he enters Pevely second in the standings, ahead of Hull, Hurley and Ben Wagoner.

The Red, White and Blue Shootout at Pevely on Saturday night will see FREE admission to all active and retired Veterans. Pits open at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing scheduled for 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.I55Raceway.com!

The pits in Quincy open at 2:30 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. For more information, visit www.QuincyRaceways.com!
