An Historic Day for the Badger Midget Series at Angell Park Speedway this Weekend

The first annual Badger Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame inductions headline a busy Sunday for the Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Series.

This Sunday, July 28, at Angell Park Speedway, the Racers Reunion day starts at 1 p.m. in the Angell Park pavilion. Here, Badger will honor their own when the first class, numbering 16 deserving individuals, will be recognized for their contributions to the famed midget racing organization. Miles “The Mouse” Melius, Billy “The Cat” Johnson, “Daredevil” Chet Morris, Owen Snyder, Billy Wood, Landy Scott, Keith Thomas, Kevin Olson and Dan Boorse are the drivers to be recognized.

Paul Krueger, Clare Rhone, Pat Stender, Jim Fiscus, Bryan Gapinski, John Heisdrof and Ron Hoettels make up the backbone of the organization in the form of owners, officials and constructors.

There will be a 50/50 raffle at the induction, along with the opportunity to win some interesting raffle baskets sponsored by the Hall of Fame and the Badger Midget Fan Club. Some family members of inductees have already pledged items of interest to the midget fan and there will be gift baskets also. Further prize donations will be graciously accepted up until the time of the ceremony.

Fans, family and friends who did not register in advance can still attend the ceremony by paying $15 at the door. This will include admission to the races that night featuring the Badger Midget Series, the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars, Midwest Dirt Legends Series and vintage cars.

Antique/vintage cars are slated to be on display throughout the day.

For fans not attending the Hall of Fame inductions, gates open at 4pm Hot Laps start at 5 and opening ceremonies are scheduled to get underway at 6. It should be noted that the induction celebration in the pavilion will go on, rain or shine.
