Sarver, PA (July 21, 2024) The Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series will usher in a new area for one of the annual cornerstones of the Lernerville Speedway schedule as the series becomes the new sanctioning body of the annual Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup scheduled for Tuesday, July 23. And though the series may be different, the racing should be on point as it always has been through 32 years of existence. Based on the success of the Commonwealth Clash from September of 2023, the second visit from the national touring series is primed to leave fans on the edge of their seats once again as Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney, Brent Marks, Corey Day and even more series followers prepare to do battle for the $25,000 top prize. The Silver Cup also brings out a good amount of true outlaws and top regional hot shoes who will be ready to make their mark on the national stage on the 4/10 mile Sarver, PA speed plant.
Here Come the High Rollers
The series will be making their second all-time appearance at Lernerville on Tuesday night, following a very successful debut in September, 2023 for the Commonwealth Clash in an event that saw a record crowd fill the stands at The Action Track. The High Limit Racing Sprint Cars bring a formidable list of drivers with national touring experience including former World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car champions, Knoxville Nationals winners and also attract a large number of true outlaws and top regional drivers wherever they go. Expect some uncommon names to the pits on Tuesday night as drivers from all over the country and world will be looking to take home the $25,000 top prize. Fans will want to stay tuned to the Kubota High Limit Racing pages on Facebook and Twitter as the expected drivers list make their way around social media. Former multi-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion Brad Sweet leads the way in the current point standings followed by former All Star Circuit of Champions champion Tyler Courtney, 2022 Kings Royal champion Brent Marks, crowd favorite Rico Abreu and rising superstar Corey Day.

Locals Looking to Make Good in 2024
In 2002, Ed Lynch Jr. scored his historic upset of the World of Outlaws in the Silver Cup and since then, the area’s best local drivers have been looking to do the same. It would take a fortunate break or two throughout the program for any local driver to accomplish the feat again given the cost and expense disparities between professional drivers and weekend warriors in this day and time. But, the first step in the process is to show speed and several drivers on the local scene have set themselves up to have tremendous finishes in recent seasons. Apollo, PA pilot Sye Lynch hasn’t been on the local scene as much in the past two seasons as much as he has been since becoming a true outlaw, running select shows at the national and regional level. Lynch has earned a pole position and placed himself in the dash of the Silver Cup before and has had some similar success this year. Brandon Spithaler has three wins at Lernerville in 2024 and has shown flashes of magic during time trials before at various events both at Lernerville and with the FAST Series based out of Ohio where he is the current points leader. Meanwhile, seven time Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Car champion AJ Flick has won three feature events at The Action Track as well in 2024 including a $4,000 payday in the Western PA Sprint Speedweek stop on May 31. Flick also scored an overall quick time on June 28 when the Peoples Sprints used group time trials to line up heat racing for the night.
Previous Winners/Collecting Cups
Thus far, no driver has come close to collecting as many cups as Donny Schatz (7) and Mark Kinser (5) in the first 32 years of competition. However, Kyle Larson could come close to them with his next feature win which would give him four, and if that were to occur in 2024 he would become just the second driver in event history to win three Silver Cups in a row.
