Team Abold Racing and Oswego Speedway to Give Away 50+ Kids Bikes on Family Autograph Night This Saturday, July 20

OSWEGO, NY (July 16, 2024) - On Saturday, July 20, during Compass Federal Credit Union and Rock Stream Retreat Autograph Night at Oswego Speedway, there will be a special Kids Bike Giveaway event starting at 5:15pm.

Last year, Jeff Abold, driver of the 05 Supermodified for Team Abold Racing, decided to host a bike giveaway as part of the Oswego Speedway autograph session. Initially, he hoped to give away five bikes but ended up distributing nine. This year, Jeff had aimed to give away a total of 10 bikes, but with the enthusiastic support of Michelle Muldoon Barzee, Mike Silliman, Kris and Amie Abold, and Roy Sova, their effort has surpassed expectations, and they now have over 50 kids bikes to give away.

“On behalf of Team Abold Racing and all of the generous people and organizations that have donated, we are extremely excited to host this year’s bike giveaway at Oswego Speedway on Saturday,” said Jeff Abold. “The support of those involved is overwhelming and we want to thank the community for their help in making this possible."

When kids come on the track for Autograph Night this Saturday, they will receive a Novelis bag and an entry blank. Each bike will have a bag with the name of the donor, and kids can put their entry blank into the bag of the bike they want to win. One winner will be drawn from each bike's entries. The donor and the winner will be announced by Roy Sova on the PA. After all the bikes are given away, any remaining names will be entered into a drawing for an RC car.

Several of these kids bikes are currently on display at A&P Automotive located at East 9th and Bridge Streets in Oswego, with more bikes arriving daily. Some bikes are also stored at another location.

There is still time to donate a kids' bike. Your donation can make a child's day, as several dozen kids in attendance will go home with a new bike. To donate a bike, please contact Jeff Abold at (315)-342-3343, or Michelle Barzee at (315)-600-1418. Bikes can be dropped off at A&P Auto, 160 East Bridge Street, Oswego.

In addition to the bike giveaway, Cathie Weeks is arranging face painting for the kids during the autograph session. There will also be plenty of candy and driver cards at each Supermodified, SBS, and 350 Supermodified for kids to take home in their Novelis goodie bag.

This is all part of a huge 2-day ‘Super Spectacle’ this Friday, July 19th, and Saturday, July 20th at Oswego Speedway. The event will feature the ISMA/MSS Supermodifieds Winged Challenge on Friday and Autograph Night for Oswego Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and J&S Supers on Saturday, all presented by Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oswego, NBT Bank, Compass Federal Credit Union, and Rock Stream Retreat.

A 2-day GA ticket is available for $45. The ticket can be purchased by visiting the Speedway website and clicking "Buy Tickets." Kids 16 and under are FREE with a paid adult to both big events.
