The 29th Annual Pabst Shootout brought to you by North Counties Supply, was set to be a highly anticipated event. However, Mother Nature had other plans forcing the cancelation of one of the Crown Jewel races of the year.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms were forecasted for the Town of Orleans near race time and with drivers coming from all over the Northeast for three major series races, Can-Am Speedway management along with DIRTCar Northeast officials and officials with the Empire Super Sprints, made the call to cancel the program at around 2pm, which ended up being a very good move. At around 7:30pm a heavy down pour came through the speedway along with strong winds.
A make up date for the DIRTCar 358 Modified and Sportsman North/Central Regional Series have yet to be announced but Can-Am is hoping to have a make up date in place and have one of the biggest shows of the year as promised to the fans. Those with online tickets, your refunds have been sent. The Empire Super Sprints will return to Can-Am on August 2nd and then return once again on September the 7th.
For now, as the Golden Jubilee Season moves forward, racing action with get back underway on July 12th with a full show in all regular divisions including the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman, Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints and the Sundance Leisure ThunderCars.
Also, it is Ladies Night at the speedway and the Mothers, Sisters, Wives and Girlfriends will take over the reigns of the these high powered cars in a special Powder Puff at the end of the night.
The first green flag of the night will fly at 7pm.
