POSTPONED: Saturday's Diamond Classic at Lucas Oil Speedway Rained Out with Kubota High Limit Racing

Saturday's inaugural Diamond Classic at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri has been canceled following evening rain and more imminent thunderstorms.

With 33 Kubota High Limit Sprint Cars checked in, all of Capitol Custom Trailers Qualifying was completed with Rico Abreu establishing a new track record at 12.829 seconds.

It was only minutes after the final qualifier that the skies opened and rain poured down. There was still hope to complete the program later into the night once the track was ready, but a second and more powerful cell emerging drowned out those chances.

Series and track officials are actively searching for a viable makeup date. If finalized, that will be announced when official.

Up next for Kubota High Limit Racing is a little summer break as the series allows for Fourth of July fun and mid-season rest during a two-week hiatus. The next race is slated for Saturday, July 13 at Ohio's Portsmouth Raceway Park for the $25,554-to-win Dean Knittel Memorial.
