Without the brave men and women we would not be able to do what we do each and everyday and this coming weekend the Can-Am Speedway will honor these great people with a full program of racing Friday night, plus no charge at the front gate.

This coming Friday is the annual Armed Forces Tribute night where we thank those who serve our country and keep us safe. A full show is ready with the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman, Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints and Sundance Leisure Thundercars.

Last week a few new faces graced victory lane and some ended long winless streaks. It had been since August of 2022 since Brownville New York’s Derek Webb had won a Can-Am DIRTCar 358 Modified feature event. This past Friday he got past Lucas Fuller on lap 12 of the 25 lap event and never looked back, scoring the win ahead of Preston Forbes and Tim Fuller.

Tyler Stevenson of Watertown New York missed the start of the Golden Jubilee season, but it hasn’t stopped his ability to get to victory lane in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman division. Stevenson took the lead from Justin Gadbaw on lap 6 and drove away to his first win of the season, making it 7 different winners in 7 races in the class.

Brady Howard was the driver to beat in the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman feature last week. Howard grabbed the lead on lap two and would go unchallenged the entire 12 lap distance to record the win over Camdin Cook who had won the previous night at Mohawk. Logan Brown’s win streak was stopped at three in a row.

Andrew Hennessy came into the night going for his fourth straight win in the Panther Frameworx Crate Sprint Car division but Tucker Donath had other ideas as he looked for his first win since opening day April 26th. Donath took the lead early and held off a fast closing Josh Verne Jr. to record his 4th career Can-Am Crate Sprint Car win and second this year. Verne finished second for a 4th consecutive week.

Defending Sundance Leisure Thundercar track champion Francis White got his season going the right way on June 7th with his first win of the year, this past weekend he would continue the roll picking up his second straight win, but it wasn’t easy. White survived a one lap shootout to the checkered flag and held off a determined Corey Valade and his close friend Justin Pope to get the victory.

The top stars of the Can-Am Speedway will be ready to go Friday night and we hope you will be there as well. Gates open at 5pm with the first green flying at 7pm, as the Golden Jubilee Season marches on.
