After three weeks of rain outs, it was time to start racing again. However, following the theme thus far of a "challenging season", mechanical issues struck BiGFooT Racing. Afer starting the car for engine warm up, the car would not start or stay started for the hot laps. Fortunately team BiGFooT pitted next to Rafe Essary. Rafe noticed we were having problems and he and his teammate helped us througout the night to pinpoint and solve the problem. We switched out the mag box, checked fuel filter, and finally switched out carbureators (borrowing the carb from Rafe). By the time we realized the carb was the problem, both the hot lap session and the heat race had been missed. Michael had to start at the back of the "B" Feature with the original hot lap set-up; there was not enough time to change the settings for the feature. Finishing 9th, Michael just missed qualifying for the "A". BiGFooT Racing THANKS Rafe Essary and his teammate. Taking time from their set-up, they helped to salvage the night for BiGFooT Racing.
A few weeks ago at Thunderbird Speedway, after a beginning of a challenging night, Mike Davenport happened to walk by, noticed our plight and helped to solve our issue (air bubble in the water pump) that night. BiGFooT Racing thanks all who work to help each others' teams out. A level of mutial support and assistance is exhibited by many in the OCRS community.
BiGFooT Racing would also like to thank the Leep family for their support of the Harold Leep Jr. Memorial Race. Their support helps to continue the tradition of sprint car racing in Oklahoma.
