Back to Victory Lane: Reinke Back into Winner’s Club
31 cars checked in for a beautiful June day at Wilmot Raceway for the Father’s Day Special.
Thiel would take Box3 Media hot laps award and Paul Nienhiser would QuickTime around the raceway with a lap of 12.736
Heat races were won by Brayton Lynch, Brenham Crouch, and Blake Nimee.
Dashes were won by Paul Nienhiser and Brenham Crouch. That set up the front row of our 25 lap feature.
Brenham would take the early lead on the field, making it feel like we were back on Founders Night 2023 here at the Wilmot Raceway. We would quickly reel back in the group with a red flag for Dave Uttech and Ryan Zielski. Both drivers were okay after the scene on the front stretch.
Our race would continue with a complete restart and Crouch resuming the lead after the second green flag of the night. Nienhieser would get a better jump on the start and would begin to hunt down the Lubbock, TX Native. Dodge representing Colorado would make his way into the third spot as well on the restart.
Crouch would begin to tip toe close to the wall and cushion in turns one and two, and would lose some of the lead he had accumulated on the field. With 5 laps into the feature, we would draw out out second red flag of the night for Jake Neuman, and Brayton Lynch. The drivers involved would walk away from the scene.
Back to green, and Crouch would look like continue to seal the deal on another win at Wilmot Raceway. While driving into lap traffic with the lead, the 99 of Tyler Brabant would spin infront of the leader. Crouch with nowhere to go would go a spin in the infield. Brenham would have to go to the tail of the field.
Reinke would resume the lead with 14 laps remaining. With only two more laps in the books, we’d draw out a yellow for the 2022 IRA Champion of Jordan Goldesberry spun on the backstretch.
10w, 9x, 73, 79, 9k top five when we go back to green. Nimee and Thiel would battle behind Nienhiser for third. Only until Thiel would slow and retire for the night.
The rest is history for the driver out of Howard’s Grove, WI. He’d park it in victory lane for the first time since 2021. Nienhiser would hang onto second and Nimee would round out the podium.
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series is set for Maverick Mayhem starting on Thursday June 20th at Lincoln Park Speedway. Friday at Bloomington Speedway, Saturday at Tri-State Speedway, and Sunday at Terre Haute Action Track. All of the races will be live on FloRacing.
