Belleville, IL. (6/15/24) Extreme temperatures with real feel expectancy into the 100’s have forced the cancelation of the final night of Illinois POWRi Midget Speedweek. The event was scheduled for Sunday, June 16 at Lincoln Speedway, in Lincoln, IL.
In addition to Midgets, DIRTcar Pro Late Models, Modifieds, and Pro Mods were scheduled to race. For the POWRi Midgets, it was scheduled to be the fourth and final race of the 2024 Speedweek.
“Lincoln Speedway and Series officials felt it was in the best interest of all involved to cancel the event on what could possibly end up being hottest day of the year,” said Adam McKay of Lincoln Speedway.
For the POWRi Midgets, their next races will be at the Independence Celebration at Lake Ozark Speedway on July 5th and 6th.
Lincoln Speedway is in the midst of a busy part of their schedule. Up next will be the DIRTcar Summer National event on Sunday, June 23, featuring Super Late Models and Modifieds.
