CHANGE OF PLANS
A schedule change late in the week after Lincoln Speedway canceled their Saturday plans brought Reinhardt to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night instead.
Reinhardt’s qualifying run to start the night in the Capitol Custom Coaches & Trailers, Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, E-Z-GO Golf Cars, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 put him in the middle of the group one qualifying results.
The Neptune City, NJ native took full advantage of his number one starting spot in his heat race. He took command at the drop of the green and went on to win by a margin of nearly 1.5 seconds.
The win earned Reinhardt the pole for the 25-lap A-main. Despite losing a couple of spots in the opening laps, he remained within striking distance, racing inside the top five until the race neared its midpoint.
As the feature moved into the final dozen circuits, Reinhardt dropped to 7th and held on the rest of the way to record the top-ten finish.
“Overall it was a good night for us. When you’re starting up front you want to take advantage of it but we were just off. We made good progress, so we will move on with that.”, Reinhardt said.
BAPS RECAP
Sunday night Reinhardt returned to BAPS Motor Speedway for his third visit of the season.
Reinhardt’s qualifying run, 6th quickest in group four, wasn’t what he was looking for to start his night but racing from 6th to a 4th place finish in his heat race put him in the show.
In the 30-lap A-main, Reinhardt started 17th and made early progress, reaching 13th on lap seven. Two laps later he was pressuring Kody Hartlaub for 11th when the yellow lights flashed on.
During the caution period, Reinhardt was put back two spots for being side-by-side at the cone on the previous restart, placing him 14th for the lap ten restart.
The next seven laps brought a heated 3-car battle mixed with multiple caution flags. Reinhardt reclaimed the 12th spot on lap sixteen and held on there through the checkers.
