Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (May 2, 2013) April showers have lasting effects as the month of May unfolds with yet another attempt at the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 presented by Sprintsource.com squashed by continued rain fall that has left the Riverside International Speedway grounds too soft to maneuver on, in addition to the Mississippi River, which sits only a couple hundred yards away, less than 3 feet below flood stage.
With the chance of more precipitation increasing to as much as 90 percent by the end of the week, event promoter Tony Bruce, Jr. has made the decision to postpone this year’s event until a better date can be found.
“It’s not something I want to do because I know how much everyone, including me, looks forward to this race but it’s just not feasible, or safe, for anyone right now with the way things are” commented Bruce of the decision to postpone.
TBJ Promotions, along with ASCS series officials, are looking for a possible reschedule date for the already rescheduled event. Anyone with advance purchased tickets can transfer their tickets, without additional charge, to another TBJ Promotions event or get a refund for their purchase.
“This sucks” said Bruce. “I hate having to postpone shows but I want the fans, and drivers, to get their monies worth when they come to a TBJ Promotions event. The hope is that we can still have the Rock ‘N Roll 50 this year.”
Updates regarding a new date will be posted to http://www.tbjpromotions.com as well as http://www.ascsracing.com.
