RS12 Motorsports drivers turned in a wildly successful two days before the Mother’s Day holiday with multiple wins and top-five finishes to their credit.
The action commenced on Friday at the 1/6-mile Doe Run Raceway in Doe Run, Illinois. Harrison Robards picked up a pair of strong results at the track as he drove to runner-up finishes in both the Winged Outlaw Micro and A-Class Winged Micro feature events. Meanwhile, Zander LaRose continued his impressive season as he led every lap in both his heat race and feature to sweep the evening in the LO206 Restricted Box Class class. In addition, Dalton Clary drove to the checkered flag in the Junior Sprints A-Main.
On Saturday, the team moved to Mattoon, Illinois, to compete at Coles County Speedway. Robards took on a trio of classes at the 1/8-mile oval and raced to a third-place result in the Outlaw Wing A-Main to go along with fourth-place finishes in both the Non-Wing Micro and A-Class Wing features. LaRose also competed in multiple divisions at Coles County and turned in a seventh-place finish in the Junior Sprints main event. However, he suffered a DNF in the LO206 Beginner A-Main and came home fourth. Clary was also on hand at Coles County and finished third in the Junior Sprints feature.
A third track was on the docket for RS12 over the weekend as well, as Jaxton Wiggs participated in three classes at Marion, Illinois’ Southern Illinois Raceway on Saturday. Wiggs won in both Non-Wing Outlaws and A-Class at the 1/8-mile oval and finished second in Winged Outlaws.
