On Friday, May 17th Circle City Raceway is set to honor two men who left a lasting mark on the world of racing.
The 3rd Annual CJ Rayburn Tribute is a fan favorite as the Northern All-Stars Late Models take the track to win $10,000. CJ Rayburn still holds the title of being one of the best car builders and mentors of all time, which is why we here at Circle City are always honored to host this night paying tribute to him. With such a large prize on the line, these late model drivers always put on an amazing show in a thrilling fight to the finish. This will be a race you won't want to miss!
In addition, this year we are also very excited to be host to the first ever Roy Caruthers Memorial! After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Roy passed away in August of last year. His obituary reads, "Roy Caruthers’ life was a remarkable journey of a racer, mentor, and fighter. His legacy serves as a reminder that even in the face of the most challenging circumstances, the human spirit can shine brightly. As we bid farewell to a beloved figure, let us celebrate the impact he had on the racing world and beyond". To memorialize Roy on this night, the Midwest Throwback Sprint Cars will take the track in an electric race to the finish line.
Alongside the Late Models and Sprints, four other classes will also take the track to compete including:
- 600cc Outlaw Non-Winged Micros
- Pure Stocks
- Crown Vics
