It was our 1st night back on the track since the Shootout. Dallas County Speedway in Adel, Iowa hosted 600cc Wing and 600cc Non-Wing micros.
The night started off with a "Front Stretch Party" allowing the fans to look at, and even sit in, some cars. Brantley was able to meet a lot of fans and hand out some hero cards. Meanwhile Dad was in the pits struggling with the wing car not firing on the #1 cylinder.
After replacing the plug and coil, he got it going. Both cars felt good in Hotlaps but were a little loose so we made some adjustments. The wing heat found the 38 starting 4th of 5 and quickly became a 3 way battle for the lead. Brantley would come just a bit short finishing 2nd. The Non Wing heat had us stating 4th of 4. The Bullet charged to the front to claim the victory.
Feature lineups were posted, adjustments were made, it was time to race! Wing feture lined us up 2nd where we remaind for the whole race. Dad missed the setup but motor was alive and rippin'. The #27 would claim the clean sweep in the Wing class. The Bullet started the pole in the Non Wing feature and fell to 2nd at the drop of the green. It took 2 laps to reclaim the top spot where he would finish picking up win #1 of the 2024 season.
"It feels good to just be back in the car. I didnt know if it was ever going to stop raining. Joe did a good job, he has 2 in a row now. I just hope we can get car count up again. At least we have some out of state stuff coming up."
