Butler, Mo: This Friday May 17th & Saturday May 18th, the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car Series will conduct a two day event at Electric City Speedway.
Electric Start To Season:
So far in 2024 after 5 points paying programs, the Midwest Wingless Racing Association has seen 5 different winners, as the competition and competitiveness has been at an all-time high for the MWRA. Last weekend saw more of the same as Xavier Doney, and Jack Wagner, joined Kory Schudy, Braydon Cromwell, and Wesley Smith, in the winners column for 2024.
ECS History:
Over the last two years the MWRA has raced three times at Electric City with Lone Jack, Missouri’s, Braydon Cromwell taking his first victory in the series on April 21st, 2023, and Kory Schudy of Battlefield, (Mo) on July 28th, 2023. Earlier this season on April 19th, Cromwell and Schudy would once again be the center of attention with the “Cowboy” Cromwell taking the win after Schudy suffered a flat tire on the last lap relegating him to a sixth place finish.
Looking for their first win:
Several drivers will be looking to join the winners list in 2024 at ECS this weekend. With Topeka, Kansas, chauffeur Wyatt Burks heading that list. The “Sheriff” Burks has wrestled up 16 previous wins with the MWRA since 2020 to lead that category. While also winning three titles with the series since its inception in 2020. Last time at ECS, Burks finished 2nd place to Cromwell. And last Saturday night was 3rd place at Valley for his latest podium finish in the series. With Independence, (Mo) driver Dakota Earls, finishing 3rd place behind Cromwell, and Burks, in April at ECS.
Points Race is a tight one:
Coming into this weekends double header at ECS, Schudy has taken the point lead over Burks by 5 markers, with Overland Park, (Ks) wheelman Luke Howard in third, 25 points back of the leader. Early point leader Taylor Walton of Odessa, (Mo) is 25 points behind Howard, with Bonham, (Tx) racer Kobe Simpson rounding out the top 5. Positions 6 thru 10 include, Earls (6th), Chad Winfrey, Gladstone, Missouri, ((7th), Zach Clark, Raymore, (Mo) 8th place, Junior Parkinson, Wichita Falls (Tx) 9th place, and Michael Moore, Camden, (Mo), currently in (10th)
