Race #3 On Tap For SSP Saturday

Banks, Oregon- Two races have been completed at Sunset Speedway Park in the 2013 season. And in those two races they both have produced some action packed racing. Saturday May 4th will have the third race of the year at the Banks bullring facility with a card that includes the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, Northwest Extreme Winged Sprints, 4-Bee’s, Womens, and the debut of the Northwest Extreme Modified division.
Greg Walters was one of the last cars to show up in the pit area last week but he brought his “A” game. Walters would win the season opening feature for the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series for his seventh victory with the group when they have visited SSP. Walters, who is running a limited schedule this year, is expected to be back and look to earn another feature victory.
In the one Northwest Extreme Winged Sprint race of 2013 Mitch Hoffsess dominated the main event. Hoffsess has five career starts in a Sprint with four victories recorded. Jason Blythe dominated in the first 4-Bee race back on April 20th. Freya Smith won the first Womens race this season last week and did so in dominating fashion. The Northwest Extreme Modifieds will be on hand for the first time ever as it was a new class created during the offseason.
For Saturday’s action the front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
