CONCORD, N.C (April 3, 2024) Starting as a wingless series and following under the open engine concept of the Elite series in Texas, the Elite North Tour, based in Colorado, made the move to wings partway through 2023 and will remain that way in 2024.
This move will see a shift in the rules to the traditional ASCS package, and a rebranding of the series as the ASCS Western Plains Region. Working closely with the ASCS Northern Plains Region, which operates in Wyoming and South Dakota primarily, the two series will co-sanction events and work to keep from running against each other.
"We’re excited to work with World Racing Group, not only with ASCS but also with DIRTcar,” stated Joe Bellm of BST Promotions, who heads the Colorado-based tour.
“Aligning with the major sanction bodies is what we believe is best for the promoters, tracks, racers, and the fans going forward, plus having a common set of rules throughout the regions to allow them to travel if they want, knowing the cars they are racing are the same as theirs.”
Kicking off on April 13, the series will take on El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colo., before squaring off against ASCS Northern Plains Region at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Neb., on April 19 and April 20.
Back in Calhan, Colo., on May 11, the two tours converge again at Casper Speedway in Casper, Wyo. on May 31 and June 1. Honor Speedway in Pueblo, Colo., on September 21, the series is working on another event on July 5.
Two more times on track will be at El Paso County Raceway on August 24 and September 28 for the season finale.
Contact Joe Bellm at (720) 404-0400 for information on the series.
A reminder that all teams competing in ASCS competition must have a current DIRTcar Membership. That can be purchased at https://shorturl.at/nuIU2. The membership is $125 and is good for the 2024 calendar year.
