Back behind the wheel of the Keith Kunz Motorsports No. 67 Midget, Ryan Timms was one of 29 POWRi Midget entries entered at Creek County Speedway (Sapulpa, Okla.) on Thursday for the opening round of the Turnpike Challenge.
Starting the feature in third via a fifth-to-second run in his heat race, Ryan got caught behind a slowing lapped car while leading that brought a disappointing end to his night on lap 28. He was relegated to 15th in the finishing order.
With Friday’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at Thunderbird Speedway (Muskegon, Okla.) rained out, Timms returned to the Midget ranks at Port City Raceway (Tulsa, Okla.) on Saturday to do battle with the POWRi Midgets. The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, driver followed up a second-place finish in heat with a seventh-to-second showing in the 30-lap main event. He chased Tanner Thorson across the line with Cannon McIntosh rounding out the podium.
Timms’ weekend wrapped up on Saturday with a top-10 finish at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) against a strong contingent of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competitors. Pinned on the eighth row for the main event via his heat result, Ryan advanced forward six spots in the 30-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
