As the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series prepare for the 2013 season, we wonder if Mother Nature is on the same schedule as us. With the season fast approaching there is plenty to be excited about, especially if you live in Wisconsin as the Badger State hosts 29 of the 30 scheduled events. And the 14 different tracks certainly make up quite a diverse variety as the tour includes high speed fairground half-miles, lightning quick highbanked tweeners, and some finesse smaller tracks that require a fine line between patience and aggression. Certainly something for everybody, and a variety that will create a deserving champion and provide plenty of excitement a long the way.
Obviously we need some dry sunny days within the next couple weeks in order for our April shows to go trackside, but we’re fortunate that solid prep crews at Oshkosh and Beaver Dam have the ability to pull it off with even the weather’s slightest cooperation, though they have lots of cold and wet stuff to overcome.
This year’s crop of IRA teams is exceptionally talented. Made up of past and current IRA champions, proven IRA winners and 410 track record holders, series contenders both past and present, IRA young guns and loyalists, midget drivers, 360 sprint and mini-sprint champions, and even a 3-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion will be aiming for IRA Victory Lane this year.
To date (alphabetically), MSA Sprint Car Champion’s Lance Fassbender, Jeremy Schultz, and Midget racer Bryon Walters have all thrown their names into the 2013 Rookie of the Year hat.
Sponsor-wise IRA is blessed to have Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts & Service Centers as title sponsor yet again, and we can’t thank them enough for all the support they’ve provided over the years. IRA will again ride on Hoosier Tires and Hoosier has made a tremendous financial investment in return. Osborn & Son Trucking, TW Metals, and Carriage Auto Body have continued their long time support. Polaris will once again be the Official ATV of the IRA. Mother’s Wax & Polishes are set for their second year of cleaning us up, and Global Vision Eyewear has opened their eyes to the series. Of course Cummins Onan, and Big Game Treestands extend their support of our cause too.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed with the weather, and prepare ourselves for what certainly should be an IRA season to remember.
Stay tuned…..
