Were you a fan of racing before you got behind the wheel and if so, who were your heroes and what tracks did you attend?
We were fans first, my family took my brother and I to Angell Park Speedway basically from birth. I was lucky enough to grow up watching guys like Dan Boorse, Brandon Waelti, Kevin Olson, Jerry Coons Jr, Aaron Fiscus, Doug Schenck. Angell Park was always our Sunday night tradition as they ran every week growing up.
Give us a synopsis of your racing career:
Short, we started racing in 2022 and had little to no experience before this. Being die hard fans we’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to chase our dream of racing midgets. It’s been quite the ride so far. Being fans first I feel helped us understand the form of this racing. Now it’s just doing everything we can to execute what we’ve watched all these years.
How much time do you spend on the car each week during the season?
Daily, my wife Savana and I spend a lot of time working in the garage to prep our car for racing. As we are still new to all this. We do our best to prepare well. These cars come with many different challenges. We’ve been lucky enough to have some great guidance though, from other drivers and teams.
What is your day job and how does racing fit in?
I work for Fanaktive Marketing and Graphics. It fits in well as we have gotten to wrap quite a few cars in the Badger field. Guys like Derek Doerr, Zach Boden and Charles Rufi. It’s fun to see designs come to life and rip around Angell Park and other tracks.
What's something interesting the fans might not know about you?
My wife and I had a beautiful baby boy right after the 2023 season ended. We are so excited to have our boy Mattix join in on all the fun this year and years to come offer.
Just want to add a huge Thank you to all the amazing people who have helped us get here. From sponsors, Family, car owners and drivers we’ve had a blast in just the 2 years we’ve been doing this. We can’t wait for 2024 to start.
Thanks,
Trey Weishoff
