Ryan Timms returned to the Sunshine State on Friday with a visit to Hendry County Motorsports Park (Clewiston, Fla.) aboard his Hampel Oil No. 5T Sprinter for the United Sprint Car Series Winter Heat doubleheader.
Starting Friday’s $3,000-to-win preliminary in 12th via a fifth-place finish in his heat, Timms charged forward nine spots in the 25-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He trailed Davie Franek and Mark Smith across the line.
Back at the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday, Ryan backed up a seventh-to-third showing in his heat with a runner-up run in the Hoosier Speed Dash. Powering ahead of Chris Martin on the seventh circuit of the feature, Timms controlled the remainder of the 30-lapper to secure his second win of the season, 2.961 seconds ahead of Mark Smith. He earned a $3,000 payday for his efforts.
