Belleville, IL. (10/15/23) Contending into the yearly adventure of chasing a National Championship, the POWRi Hornet Division would witness the rise and enduring presence of Alvin Cooney as the first driver to clinch the yearly title in the emerging division.
Acquiring the first yearly title of the POWRi Hornets through top-notch consistency and a divisional leading six feature wins on the year, Alvin Cooney of Mexico Missouri would not be denied of championship glory by placing inside the top five in twenty-two of his twenty-six seasonal starts as well as reeling off twenty-five top-ten showings.
Holding a steady field of quality drivers at bay, Cooney would capture honors atop the yearly standings by two hundred points over the 2023 Andy Zeller Memorial winning driver Josh Clark of Columbia Missouri as Mexico Missouri’s Tom Cooney completed the podium placements.
Staying within the hunt for a title throughout the inaugural divisional campaign would witness David Kirkpatrick of Eugene Missouri and Corbin Mooney of Linn Creek Missouri complete the top five as Ryan Lewins, Jim Cook, Emery Crow, and Blake Reno finalized the top ten in the in the 2023 POWRi Hornet Division National Standings.
