Scott Thomason - TULSA, Okla. (February 13, 2013) Mike Goodman has raced with the ASCS Regional and National series off and on over the past several years but for the first time the Broken Arrow, Okla. driver will run full time for the 2013 American Bank of Oklahoma American Sprint Car Series Sooner Region title.
Backed by Oklahoma based Oilfield Equipment & Manufacturing, along with Travis Jenkins of PREMIER Machine and PREMIER Homes, the team will utilize Eagle Motorsports frames, powered by Wells Racing Engines. The team will also trust their setups to Penske Shocks.
With the backing, and team to support him, Goodman has all things in place to make his run for the title currently held by Matt Covington, “I am excited for the opportunity to compete full time in the Sooner series and be in an Eagle Chassis again” commented Goodman. “I can't thank Dennis and Travis enough for the recipe to make all of this possible".
The team also will run selected Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Lone Star Regional events in addition to races with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real.
Mike’s regional record in 2012 included a pair of wins along with five appearances in the top five. The 2013 American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region season begins April 13, 2013 with a co-sanctioned event with the Smile’s Racing Products ASCS Lone Star Region at the Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas.
