RS12 Motorsports drivers Zander LaRose and Matt Bagby both took to the track over the weekend, with LaRose picking up a pair of wins and a championship, and Bagby scoring a top-10 finish.
On Friday at Doe Run Raceway (Doe Run, Missouri), LaRose competed in the Lo206 Beginner class aboard his Spartan Transportation No. 1Z car. He won his heat race from the pole on the 1/6-mile oval, then scored the win in the 10-lap A-Main after starting third. He took the checkered flag by 1.159 seconds over Easton Hayes, with Camden Boyer finishing third. Wyatt Stolzer came home fourth and Gage Couch took the fifth spot in the nine-car field.
Meanwhile, Bagby’s Spartan Transportation No. 42 Micro was one of 16 entries in the Outlaw Winged Micros class at Doe Run. After a second-place result in his heat, Bagby started sixth and finished seventh in the 20-lap A-Main.
On Saturday, LaRose visited Ste. Genevieve Jaycee's Racing Series (Ste. Genevieve, Missouri), where he swept the night in the 206 Beginner class. “Z Man” scored heat and feature wins on his way to securing the 2023 track championship.
