WHEATLAND, Mo. (September 17, 2023) Making the cut against an 85-car field at the Hockett/McMillin Memorial, Howard Moore was able to move forward at Lucas Oil Speedway.
Eighth during his prelim night, the results put him ninth in event points, and sitting on the pole of a Qualifier on Saturday, which ended up moving to Sunday as Mother Nature moved in and unleashed on the Missouri oval.
Slipping to third in the Qualifier on Sunday, that gave Howard one last shot in the B-Feature, where a win would send him into the championship event. Starting 19th, Moore would make his way to a 13th place finish.
"I appreciate all of the fan’s support of the race tracks and teams. Especially after returning to their cars for the rain and then returning to the stands. I was shocked to see how many people stayed at the track for the races. It’s more important than ever. I especially enjoyed everyone that came by my trailer and getting to talk to all of you," said Howard.
Sights are now set on the COMP Cams Short Track Nationals at Texarkana 67 Speedway the first weekend in October.
