Gunnar Setser trekked west over the weekend to Sweet Springs (Mo.) Motorsports Complex for the 2023 edition of the Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge.
He enjoyed a stellar weekend that included a pair of wins in the A-Class Micro division.
Action opened on Thursday evening with Setser competing in both the A-Class Micro and Non-Wing Outlaw Micro ranks. He hit the ground running in the A-Class division with a fourth-to-second charge in his heat race before advancing from seventh-to-third in the main event.
Meanwhile, in Non-Wing Outlaw Micro competition he had to claw his way into the feature via the B-Main, but was able to advance from 20th to 14th in the finale.
On Friday night Setser busted into the win column. He passed six competitors in his A-Class heat race to earn the pole position for the feature, and then took advantage of the starting spot to snare the win! He was followed across the finish line by Aubrey Smith, Brecken Reese, Peyton White, and Mack Leopard.
For the second-straight night he raced into the Non-Wing Outlaw Micro feature via the B-Main, but was only able to manage a 20th-place finish in the feature.
The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night as Setser bested the A-Class Micro feature from the front row to earn his second win of the weekend. Brecken Reese, Mack Leopard, Jackson Gray, and Keegan Osantowski rounded out the Top 5 in the $1,500-to-win affair.
In Non-Wing Outlaw Micro action he started seventh before slipping to an 11th-place finish.
