Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (January 25, 2013) Adding four nights to the ASCS Lone Star Regional lineup, the 40th edition of the Spring and Winter Nationals at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX will now be co-sanctioned events with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real National Tour.
A change from years past, the added dates will give the ASCS Lone Star Region 19 events to choose from with the Devil’s Bowl Spring Nationals slated for Friday, Mar. 22 and Saturday, Mar. 23. Winter National dates will now serve as the regional season finale on Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19.
The Lone Star Region was very competitive against the National Tour in 2012 at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway with Michael Lang and Raven Culp earning the front row of the Spring Nationals A-Feature. Although Culp’s night ended sooner than expected, Lang piloted his Palm Harbor Homes No. 14 to a top five finish.
Danny Jennings, who runs a mix of the Sooner and Lone Star schedule was the highest finishing regional driver in the 2012 Winter Nationals with a seventh place run ahead of reigning Lone Star Region Champion Matt Covington.
