Bryan Hulbert - Tulsa, Oklahoma (January 17, 2013) A membership with the American Sprint Car Series offers insurance for drivers and crew but now an ASCS membership will provide deep discounts to supplemental insurance through the Short Track Independent Drivers and Associates (S.T.I.D.A.).
Offering drivers and crew a way to further protect themselves in case of injury, ASCS members can purchase coverage worth $500,000 for only $400 per year. The discount is $99 off the normal price.
The minimum coverage offered is $100,000 and costs $240 per year which is a $59 savings for ASCS members.
Along with supplemental insurance, the program also offers up to 20% off safety equipment from companies like Simpson, Hooker Harness, Bell Helmets, and K&K Insurance as well as a $300 savings from Hinchman Indy Raceware.
S.T.I.D.A. is also international so drivers that regularly travel to Australia and New Zealand to race during the American Winter will still be covered. The other way around, drivers traveling to the United States are also covered.
“Most racers don’t know where to start to find insurance for their racing” said ASCS Vice President Donna Hahn-Harris. “With S.T.I.D.A. our drivers have a company tailored to them that protects them at any track in the world”
