Harrison Robards and Brian Rieck were both in the driver’s seat for RS12 Motorsports over the weekend as the team took on a pair of Midwest tracks.
On Friday, RS12 made its weekly stop at Doe Run Raceway (Doe Run, Missouri) where Robards piloted the Bales Cleaning & Restoration Services No. 11H machine in the 22-car strong Outlaw Winged Micros class. “Dirty Harry” finished fifth in his heat, putting him in the 15th starting spot for the 20-lap A-Main. He advanced six positions to register a ninth-place result on the 1/6-mile oval.
The following evening saw RS12 Motorsports visit the 1/5-mile Wayne County Speedway (Wayne City, Illinois) for the Dan Robinson Memorial. Robards participated in the 12-car A Class Winged Micros division, while Brian Rieck drove the Spartan Transportation No. 12 car in the Outlaw Non-Winged Micros portion of the program. Rieck was one of 56 drivers looking for a $5,000 payday.
Robards finished sixth in his heat race and rolled off 11th in the 20-lap A-Class feature. During the race Robards' steering broke and he hit the wall, while another car caught his bumper and tumbled. Both drivers walked away unscathed. Despite the carnage, Robards still took his second ninth-place finish in as many nights.
Meanwhile, Rieck began Saturday by finishing eighth in his Outlaw Non-Winged Micros heat race. He then came home 13th in his C-Feature Qualifier, putting him in a B-Main. He drove from 12th to ninth in the “B,” but was unable to transfer to the 40-lap main event.
