The Speedway Motors Central PA Sprint Car Point Series ended 2012 with 95 feature events run. It was the 2nd year of Speedway Motors sponsorship with Greg Hodnett in the Trone Outdoor #39 led by crew chief Lee Stauffer coming out on top of the points once again as the series champion. Greg had sixteen wins for the year with 2nd place Danny Dietrich gathering ten wins. There were 35 different feature winners.
93 different drivers gathered at least 10 points in the series with the top 10 all receiving checks. With several new associate sponsors for the 2012 season, the total payout was increased to $19,000. Speedway Motors contributes $5,000 as the title sponsor while Hoseheads Sprint Car News adds $3,000 as presenting sponsor.
Associate sponsors for the 2012 season each add $1,000 to the series and they include Ben Cook Racing Products, BR Motorsports/King Racing Products, BioBased.US, ButlerBuilt Seats, Conroy “Pneu” Control, FatHeadz Eyewear, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, Maxim Chassis, Don Ott Racing Engines, the RAACE Foundation, and Winters Performance Products.
The 2012 champion Greg Hodnett received $5000. Second place Danny Dietrich received $3000, with Brian Montieth $2500 for third, Lance Dewease $2000 for fourth, Daryn Pittman $1500 for fifth, Fred Rahmer $1250 for sixth, positions seven through nine Brent Marks, Cory Haas, and Alan Krimes each got $1000, while Chad Layton tenth received $750.
Danny Dietrich received the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award.
Logan Schuchart received the Wings Un-limited/Shaver Wesmar Gear Drives Rookie of the Year Award.
Jimmy Siegel received the Eagle Motorsports Sportsmanship Award.
Nearly $15,000 in product sponsorship was divided among the top 20 drivers in points. The product sponsors for the 2012 season included: Champion Brands Oil, Kreitz Oval Track Products, Rodend Supply, KSE Racing Products, RE Technologies, Saldana Racing Products, Zemco Speed Equipment, Maxim Chassis, ATL Fuel Cells, Pancho’s Racing Products, Shaver/Wesmar Gear Drives, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Nouse Sign & Graphics, J&J Auto Racing, Eagle Motorsports, Wings Un-limited, VRP Shocks, Martin Design, & WRT Speedwerx.
