Cole Vanderheiden made the short trip to Eagle Raceway (Eagle, Neb.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his Copps Pizza Company No. 15V IMCA Sprint Car for the track's Rock n’ Roll Classic presented by NE Lottery & Demon Decals.
Braving the extreme heat, Vanderheiden raced into the A-Main with a heat race victory. Rolling off fifth, Cole clawed forward three spots to register a runner-up finish. He chased Jake Galusha to the checkers with Gunnar Pike, Bret Klabunde, and Shayle Bade rounding out the Top-5.
On Sunday afternoon at Huset's Speedway (Brandon, S.D.), Cole's fourth-to-second run in his heat positioned him on the fourth row for the feature. He got caught behind a tangle early in the 20-lapper that brought a disappointing end to his night.
