Drivers to Watch: POWRi National Midget League/Xtreme Midget Series Ironman Weekend

Belleville, IL. (8/2/23) Competing for $9000 to win over the pair of action-packed nights, the POWRi National Midget League, running in conjunction with the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota Racing, will test their quick times against the iconic 1/3-mile oval of Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in support of the World of Outlaw NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series’ Ironman 55 weekend on August 4-5.

Establishing a regular rank atop the leaderboards, the POWRi National Midget League points picture continues to find the Mounce-Stout Motorsports challenge of Corbin Rueschenberg continually leading both the rookie of the year and national points standings. Joining his teammate will see the defending rookie-of-the-year winner Chase McDermand coming into the weekend rounding out the top-five in the Xtreme points.

Bombarding up into second place in POWRi National Midget League seasonal points as well as leading the Xtreme Midget standings, Cannon McIntosh comes into the weekend sizzling with four POWRi wins on the season while continuing to mentor through the span of the season, as DaveMac-Dalby Motorsports will also bring up-and-coming Brody Wake and teammate Austin Barnhill to Pevely.

Rounding out the podium placements in the POWRi National Midget League finds the yearly national winner Karter Sarff continually and consistently carving his path to the top of the standings. Connecting with contention, SPEEDWeek runner-up and Rudeen Racing wheelman Chance Crum also joins the top-ten contenders that are primed for a front-running charge sitting seventh in both POWRi and Xtreme points.

Impressively exerting a full fleet of upper-echelon contestants, Keith Kunz Motorsports will see a queue-packed list of drivers inserted into the weekend including recent league victor Gavin Miller, as well as perennial frontrunners Cooper Williams, Taylor Reimer, Mariah Ede, and recent Xtreme series winner Jade Avedisian.

Linking the blend of competitors scheduled to enter over the Ironman weekend will also see a mixture of traveling talents including three-time POWRi National Midget and defending Xtreme Series champ Zach Daum, former National and West Champion Andrew Felker, Reinbold-Underwood rising talent Hayden Reinbold, O’Dell Motorsports wheelman Mitchell Davis, top-ten in POWRi points Branigan Roark, plus many more.
