ASCS Elite Non-Wing Headed For Waco And Mesquite

Bryan Hulbert - WACO, Texas (July 31, 2023) Two nights of action are on deck for the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating this weekend with the Bill White Shootout at Heart O'Texas Speedway in Waco on Friday, August 4, and the Johnny Suggs Classic at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite on Saturday, August 5.

$2,000 to win, $300 to start both nights, the Bill White Shootout has been contested five times, with Justin Zimmerman going to Victory Lane in 2022. Paul White was victorious in 2021, with Kyle Jones in 2020. Justin Melton went back-to-back in 2018 and 2019 to be the only driver with more than one win.

Friday, August 4, includes Outlaw Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Southern SportMod, Outlaw Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks. Gates open at 6:30 P.M., with racing at 8:30 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $20. Senior and Military are $15, Youth (6-12) are $5, and kids five and under are free. Pit Passes are $35.

On to the Johnny Suggs Classic Saturday at the Devil's Bowl; the event was topped by Shane Cockrum in 2022. Contested at three different tracks over the years, the event has been run at Heart O' Texas, RPM Speedway, and the Devil's Bowl in both Winged RaceSaver and Elite Non-Wing.

A winged RaceSaver event in 2016, the event was won by Jeff Day at Heart O' Texas. Run under the Elite banner starting in 2017. Dalton Stevens captured the Devil's Bowl victory. RPM Speedway in 2018, the win went to Paul White. Back at Devil's Bowl since then, Justin Zimmerman won in 2019 and 2020. Steven Shebester topped the event in 2021.

Saturday at the Devi's Bowl Speedway opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, youth (13-15), and free for kids 12 and under. Pits are $35. Other classes include Factory Stocks, Limited Modifieds, and Modifieds.
