Garden City, Kan (Airport-Raceway.Com) – For the first time since 2000 the Colorado Outlaw Series 270 micros return to Airport Raceway for the running of the Border War Showdown.
The last time the series was in Garden City dates back to 2000 just two short years after the opening of the brand new 1/6 mile track in 1998. “It's really exciting to see what these guys will be able to do out here this weekend” says Jack Crook. “ They only time they get to run is at I-76 Speedway, so they are thrilled to get to stretch their legs a bit this weekend.”
The National Open Wheel 600 Micros will be back as well competing for local, regional and national points this weekend as well. Drivers had quit the option between Kam, Port City, and Airport. Local favorites like Tanner Johnson, Daniel Williams, Donnie Burrows and the Spicola brothers are sure to make the trip.
Heading into the 7th race of the 2023 season, Chase Spicola, Pueblo Colorado sits atop the track standings in the A-Class Series. Cale Lagroon, Salina Kansas sits atop the Restricted standings not only at the track, but in the nation as well in 2nd place to Carson Bolden, Quinlan Texas.
