Waylon Phillips stands on podium at Sweet Springs

After taking a week off to regroup, Waylon Phillips was back pulling double duty on Saturday evening at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex (Sweet Springs, Mo.) aboard his Taffs Carpets-backed A-Class and Non-Wing Micros.

Rebounding with an impressive charge in the A-Class feature after losing ground in his heat, Phillips took the green from the fifth row and went onto gain eight spots to place second. He finished 0.519 seconds behind race-long pacesetter Aubrey Smith with Peyton White, Jimmy Staton, and Brody Hibdon rounding out the top-five.

Earning the pole for the Non-Wing Micro A-Main after going seventh-to-second in his heat, Waylon held onto sixth in the 30-lapper after losing ground on a restart.
