Bryan Hulbert – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (July 19, 2023) Adding a new tour to the ASCS Regional lineup, the Hurricane Area Super Sprints has signed on under the direction of Stefen Oakes.
Much like the Elite tours in Texas and Colorado, the Hurricane Area Super Sprints are under ASCS sanction with media and points management but will operate under their own rules package and points system to allow all current teams to continue operating and racing without needing to spend extra money to change/alter their cars and equipment.
Rules for the Hurricane Area Super Sprints are online at https://www.ascsracing.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=847482
For questions regarding rules, procedures, and events, contact Stefen Oakes at bigshowmotorsports@yahoo.com or call (985) 285-9177.
Two events have already been contested in 2022 at Baton Rouge Raceway on April 14, with Channin Tankersley grabbing the win, and June 24, with Jan Howard atop the podium. The next event for the Hurricane Area Super Sprints will be a showdown with the ASCS Mid-South Region at Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 29.
The full 2023 lineup is online at https://www.ascsracing.com/schedules/2023?id=24627 and is subject to change without notice.
The 2023 season will mark the 32nd year of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours that encompass both wing and non-wing competition.
