The MSCS returned to LPS for a 3 grand 30 lap event Saturday with 24 entries. The weather all morning with heavy rain made for a real wild night as many cars unfortunately had issues of all places in turn 2 and with the drain down there it was like a pond that made the races have plenty of obstacles if you spun or needed to go through the infield down there. The fast times during qualifying were Brayden Fox 13.290, Chance Crum 13.692 and Tye Mihocko 13.209. The heat race winners in a very fast juiced up track were Brayden Fox, Kayla Roell and Sterling Cling. The last chance B main was won by Kyle Shipley. The feature was now set with Brandon Spencer and Jadon Rogers on the front row. Brandon Spencer would take the early lead as the race had a lot of early mishaps with flips and cars in the turn 2 lake along with many red flags. Brandon led for the first few laps but he had Jadon Rogers in the 04 entry and also TMEZ in the 23 ride coming up right on his bumber. Jadon was able to take the lead from Brandon and then during a long red for more cars in the sippy hole Jadon and crew had to change a Jacobs ladder from earlier in the featre when Kayla Roell made contact with his right rear sending her spinning and sure enough on the open Red Jadon sprinted across the infield to tell the crew to bring out the parts to fix it. The longer delay helped the 04 team to have time to fix it. On the restart he was able to hold off the charges of Tmez and pick up the big win for the Burton family. Following Jadon Rogers at the finish it was Thomas Meseraull, Brayden Fox, Brandon Spencer, Chance Crum, Harley Burns and Ivan Glotzbach. Thanks to the entire MSCS crew and drivers who put on a great show.
The MMSA had a huge car count of 27 cars. Heat race winners were Nolan Kiefer, Andy Bradley and Hilton Rowett. The B main winner was Johnson Ginder. The A main event was a good one for 20 laps. Andy Bradley along with Brandon Coffey and Mike Larrison were all really fast in the A main. Mike Larrison would be the class of the field after they got into lapped traffic and took the lead away and would go on for a big win. His making good moves through the lapped traffic earned him the top spot to take the lead and it also started to build his lead on the way to the checkers. Following Mike Larrison at the finish it was Andy Bradley, Brandon Cofffey, Sam Hinds, Kody Knieriem, Ken Coulston and Eric Webber. Thanks to the winged warriors of the MMSA for putting on a great show.
The UMP Modifieds had 17 entries for the night and the 2 fast times in their groups were Tim Prince 15.901 and Matt Mitchell 15.343. The wheel spin for the heat invert was a 3. Heat race 1 was led the whole way by pole sitter Jimmy Hayden looking strong and picking up the win over Tim Prince, Derek Groomer, Scott Carrington and Austin Phelps. Heat race 2 was won by Matt Mitchell who came from 3rd to win it over Dave Baldwin, Logan Mounce, Tyler Loughmiller and Jake Leitzman. This would setup the A main and the wheel spin for the feature was a 2 which put Matt and Jimmy on the front row. These 2 heat race winners would have a good battle early. Jimmy and Matt started to pull away from 3rd through 6th just 5 laps in. There was a lot of movement starting in the middle to the back. Logan Mounce had came from 6th to 3rd and Wes McClara had came from 12th to 7th early in the race. The race up front was getting side by side and the 2M of Matt Mitchell took the top spot from Jimmy Hayden. Would he be able to sweep the night with fast time, heat win and the A win yes he would as Matt drove on to get the big win. Following Matt Mitchell at the finish it was Dave Baldwin, Logan Mounce, Wes McClara from 12th, Tyler Loughmiller and Sydney Landes.
The UMP Super Stocks had 19 entries for the night and the 3 fast times were Jordan Almanza 16.253, Larry Raines 15.654 and Justin Massie 15.989. The heat race invert was a 4. The first heat was won by Kenny Carmichael Sr from the outside front row over Ray Walters, Jordan Almanza and Elijah Freeland. The 2nd heat race went to Derek Groomer over Wade Goodale, Larry Raines and Tucker Chastain. The final heat was won by UMP points leader Josh Litton over Trey Chastain, Justin Massie and Ryan Freeland. This setup the A main and the invert was a 1 which put Kenny and Derek on the front row. Derek would take the early lead over Kenny Carmichael Sr. and Josh Litton. This field was loaded with some of the UMP best. Derek would look very strong early and started to put a gap between him and the rest of the field. There were many battles behind him as Wade Goodale had made it to 2nd from 5th and Tucker Chastain who started 11th was knocking on the Top 5 door at the halfway point in 6th. Derek Groomer would build his lead and take the 20 lap A main victory. Following Derek at the finish it was Wade Goodale, Kenny Carmichael Sr, Justin Massie and Tucker Chastain.
The Bombers had 13 entries and the 2 fast times were Joey Raber 16.794 and Corey Anstead 16.691. The heat invert was a 2 for the night. Josh Foxworthy picked up Heat race 1 win from 4th over Joey Raber, Megan Cavaness and Tyler Rodgers. Heat race 2 was won by fast time Corey Anstead over Cameron Carrington, Brad Davis and Randy Foxworthy. This setup the A main and the wheel spin for the invert came up a 3 which put Joey Raber and Corey Anstead on the front row. These 2 have had classic battles all year as they are the top 2 in the points for this class. This was just another great battle to end the night. Joey Raber was able to hold off charges from Corey Anstead and Josh Foxworthy. Joey was able to stay on the bottom and take the 15 lap A main event over David Wallen from 10th, Megan Cavaness, Albert Orr and Brad Davis. Thanks to all the teams who came out for a great night and to all the fans. Next Saturday at LPS is our 4 great classes along with the next Little Feet Challenge where the kids bring their bikes and race for a new set of wheels. See you next Saturday at Lincoln Park Speedway.
