Mt.Pleasant, MI (Friday, July 7, 2023) -What an unforgettable night at Mt. Pleasant Speedway as the Great Lakes Lightning Sprints presented by United Engine and Machine (GLLS) kicked off their third race of the season at Mt. Pleasant! The stands were filled with an incredible turnout, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the drivers, fans, sponsors, and dedicated staff members who made this event a roaring success. Your support and enthusiasm made it a night to remember!
From the redraw to victory lane, it was an unforgettable night for Justin Ward (Benzonia, MI) with the Great Lakes Lightning Sprints! As the stars aligned, Arlie Cooper Jr. (Bear Lake, MI) drew 3rd, Richard Clay Sr. (Fife Lake, MI) drew 2nd, and Noah Wilfong (Wayland, MI) claimed the pole position. But it was Justin Ward who showed his skill, maintaining an impressive pace throughout the Feature Race and securing his first-ever Feature Race win! Congratulations, Justin Ward, on an incredible achievement!
Matt Cogley (Findlay, OH) dominated the track, setting an impressive time of 14.601 to claim the Fast Qualifier title! Justin Ward followed closely with a time of 15.167, securing the second spot, while Cooper Jr. impressed with a time of 15.377, earning third place.
Chad Colley (Davison, MI) takes the win in the Chaney Creek Construction Heat Race 1. Justin Ward dominates the Double W Oilfield Sales & Service Heat Race 2, while Noah Wilfong shines in Heat Race 3 presented by Beacon & Bridge Market.
