The RS12 Motorsports team took on both Doe Run Raceway (Doe Run, Missouri) and Southern Illinois Raceway (Marion, Illinois) over the weekend, with driver Harrison Robards scoring solid results near the front in each event.
On Friday evening, Robards’ Spartan Transportation No. 12R mount was one of 18 entries in the 600cc Outlaw Winged Micros class at the 1/6-mile Doe Run Raceway. Fighting motor mount issues in his heat race, Robards finished in the ninth spot, starting him 16th for the main event. He picked up an impressive 11 positions in the 20-lap feature to come home with a fifth-place finish behind Carson Heady, Matt Bagby, Alex King and Kevin Horcher.
With the effort Robards moved from fourth to second in track points.
Saturday saw Robards and the RS12 team shift to the 1/8-mile Southern Illinois Raceway, where “Dirty Harry” competed in both the A Class and Midwest Winged Outlaws programs. The “Prelude to the Sprague” drew 16 A Class entrants and 15 competitors in Midwest Winged Outlaws.
An eighth-to-fourth in run in his heat in the A Class put Robards in the sixth starting position for A-Main in his No 11H car. He ended the feature with a podium finish in third place behind Ryder Eigenrauch and LeRoy Carley. Parker Perry took the fourth spot, with Chevy Boyer finishing fifth.
In Midwest Winged Outlaws, Robards drove the No. 12R to a fourth-place finish in his heat. After starting on the outside of the third row in the feature, he picked up one spot to record a fifth-place result on challenging track conditions. He chased Devin Feger, Jake Palmisano, Daryn Stark and Chris Cobin across the line.
