Bryan Hulbert - DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 8, 2023) Trying to outrun Mother Nature on Saturday night, things got underway in that NOW600 Non-Wing A-Feature, but four laps in, lightning filled the skies above the Dodge City Raceway Park, forcing the field to the pits, and bringing the event to a halt, and eventually an end for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.
Sadly, a date is not available to make the event up in 2023. Those who raced on Saturday received last-place points for their respective class.
The next event for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is Tuesday Night Thunder at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla. on Tuesday, July 11 with the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship. The following night rolls into Beloit, Kan.
The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series comprises several regional tours and sanctioned racetracks. The NOW600 National Championship features three divisions of 600cc micro sprints at each event: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, and Restricted 'A' Class.
