Friday night’s special at I-90 Speedway is rained out. A rain shower moving through the area during the 3 p.m. hour, along with morning rain and other recent rain, was too much for the grounds to handle and host the Friday night event.
The Freedom Classic now transitions to a one-day event on Saturday, headlined by the $1,000 to win Spielman Excavating IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and the entire RPM Race Series.
Saturday tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Twelve and younger are free. The five Culver’s locations across Sioux Falls have free student passes. Those Culver’s passes are also good for college age students with a valid college identification.
Rain checks from the previous week will be accepted, but patrons will need to pay the price difference between Saturday’s pricing and last week’s pricing. Rain checks can also be used the following Saturday.
Hot laps begin at 6:30 with racing to follow. Saturday’s event is capped off with a fireworks display.
