Robards continues season at Doe Run Raceway

The RS12 Motorsports team made its weekly trip to Doe Run, Missouri’s Doe Run Raceway on Friday for two 600cc Outlaw Winged Micro feature events on the 1/6-mile oval.

On May 19, driver Harrison Robards earned a fourth-place starting position for the night’s A-Main in the team’s No. 11H. however, rain washed away the remainder of the program. The event was made up on Friday, but with the No. 11H car’s engine out of race nights, Robards instead had to climb aboard RS12’s No. 12R and start from the rear of the field for the 20-lap feature. He was unable to finish when the chain snapped, resulting in a ninth-place result out of the 10 cars that made the call for the makeup event.

Eighteen cars were on hand for the track’s regularly scheduled program, which saw Robards finish sixth in his heat race, putting him ninth on the grid for the 30-lap, $750-to-win main event.

Robards fought the car popping out of gear in the feature and had to end his night early with a 15th-place finish. The team believes it has diagnosed the problem after finding that a motor mount bolt had loosened and caused the power plant to shift back and forth.
