Lake Odessa, MI (Friday, June 16, 2023) - Great Lakes Lightning Sprints presented by United Engine and Machine (GLLS) had their fist race of the season at I-96 Speedway. When we come into the middle of the season you may notice smaller car counts due to car damages and repairs that may take a few weeks for drivers to repair. Even though we have had some smaller car counts, we still had an amazing night out on the track!! The night was packed with a thrilling event of high speed racing and an amazing turnout in the stands. To start this right, we would like to say thank you to all the drivers, fans, sponsors, and staff members who came out to the race and supported us.
Brendon Cascadden (Traverse City, MI) after drawing 1st in the pill draw manages to maintain his lead the whole 15 lap Feature Race and take home his 4th Feature Race win! Though Cascadden was in first the whole race, Justin Ward (Benzonia, MI) and Matt Cogley (Findlay, OH) were on his tail the whole race. As soon as Ward was about to pass Cascadden, Cascadden was able to take the inside on turn one and maintain his lead to bring home the Feature win!
Cascadden also won Heat Race 1 presented by Chaney Creek Construction. Ward wins Heat Race 2 presented by Double W Oilfield Sales & Service!
Next Up! GLLS will have their first double header of the season racing at Butler Speedway on July 1st and Merritt Speedway on July 2nd!!
