Sun Prairie, WI (June 9, 2023) - The Badger Midget Auto Racing Association will see its first interstate doubleheader weekend of the season in Illinois and Wisconsin. The series will make its first appearance of the 2023 season at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, IL on Saturday, June 10 then head to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI on Sunday, June 11 for the third event there.
Todd Kluever leads the series standings but pressure is mounting as the gap has shrunk to just 29 points back to Kyle Stark. Kluever crashed in the B-Main at Angell Park on June 4 ending his night. Stark capitalized on the mistake of finishing third in the A-Main. Cody Weisensel, Daltyn England, and Jace Sparks round out the top five. Brandon Waelti was the most recent feature winner.
The Badger Midget Series' most recent stop at the Sycamore Speedway was September 3, 2022, where Adam Taylor took home the victory over Jake Dohner and Matt Rechek. Taylor will be looking to break into the top five in the series standings as he sits just 13 points behind Sparks. For the first time in 2023, the Midget Auto Racing Association will join the Badger Midgets at Sycamore Speedway. This marks the second time in the season the two series came together for the event. The last was at the Badger Midget Series opener at Kankakee Speedway on May 5 where 37 entries signed in.
Brandon Waelti is looking to go three in a row at Angell Park in Sun Prairie, WI. He now has taken the first two events of the season at the track. The rest of the field will be chasing him including rookie contender Parker Jones. Jones earned his first top-five of the season at Angell Park Speedway on June 4 and is continuing to improve each and every week. Look for him to be fighting for wins before the end of the season.
Both events on the weekend will be shared with the IRA Outlaw Sprints and will be streamed live on FloRacing with tape-delayed versions available on Badger Racing TV.
