After taking a weekend off to regroup, Waylon Phillips returned to action on Friday afternoon at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex (Sweet Springs, Mo.) aboard his Taff’s Carpet No. 67 Non Wing and A-Class Micros.
Starting the night off on the wrong foot, Phillips suffered a broken part in his Non Wing Micro entry that sidelined him for the remainder of the night.
Thanks to the hard work of his crew, Waylon returned to the Missouri oval on Saturday but was caught in a tangle in his heat that brought a disappointing end to his weekend. Starting his Non Wing Micro heat in fourth, Phillips put on an impressive charge on the cushion but got spun around in turns three and four that collected another competitor, ending his night.
