Ryan Timms got an early start to his Memorial Day weekend with a trip to Millbridge Speedway (Salisbury, N.C.) on Tuesday afternoon to compete in the two-day event aboard the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget.
Banking a pair of top-10 finishes both nights, Timms improved on his eighth-place finish on Tuesday with a seventh-place finish in Wednesday’s feature.
Back in action on Friday, Ryan entered his Western Flyer Express No. 5T 410 Sprinter into battle at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Ill.) for the track’s Memorial Day special. After starting the night off with a heat race victory, Ryan got collected in a tangle while battling for the lead on lap 18 that slowed his momentum. He hung onto a 11th-place finish in the 25-lapper.
On Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for his 410 debut at the Iowa oval, Timms’ seventh-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the 10th row for the feature. Pulling off on lap 15, Ryan was credited with a 22nd-place finish.
The Memorial Day weekend concluded for Timms on Sunday and Monday with a doubleheader program at Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.). With 35 Sprinters on the grounds, Timms claimed the $200 fast time honors before placing third in his heat. Overtaking Christopher Thram on the ninth circuit of the feature, Ryan led the ensuing 13 circuits before getting spun around on the final lap.
Starting Monday’s finale in 17th via a fourth-place performance in his heat, Ryan advanced through the field 11 spots, capping off the weekend on a high note in an eighth-place run.
